Caravan Servicing in Rochdale

Do you have a caravan or motorhome that is in need of servicing or repair? Visit our NCC approved motorhome and caravan workshop, where our fully trained technicians will be happy to help. During our caravan and motorhome service we carry out complete and thorough checks of your vehicles electrical system, water system, bodywork, gas appliances and running gear, all in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s latest specifications. We also use genuine parts where possible and will provide you with a quote for any additional repair work that may neccessary.

Electrical system checks

Our check of your vehicles electrical system involves thorough checks and testing of the following:
• Wiring system, including sockets, plugs and fuses
• Lighting systems, internal and external
• Fridge vents, fridge exhaust and fridge’s general operation. We also check that the fridge is properly secured
• Smoke alarms
• Awning lights
• Battery’s condition, electrolyte level and lubrication terminals (charged if needed)
• Mains earth connection
• RCD unit
• MCB operation
• Pin plugs (replaced if needed)

Water System Checks

We inspect the following for leaks, operation and general ware and tear:

• All taps including bathroom and kitchen areas
• Toilet including toilet seals
• Waste system
• Water filter
• Water pump
• Pressure switch
• Grit filter

In winter we also perform a drain down to prevent frost and ice damage

Bodywork Checks

We attend to any first signs of deterioration during these checks and make sure the following is all fit for purpose and is in good working order:

• Sealants
• Grab handles
• Security sealing
• Doors and windows, this includes hinges, locks, seals and window stays
• Flooring
• Roof lighting and seals

We also check the interior for damp using a damp meter, our readings are then recorded on our report.

Gas Supply Checks

We will check the following for security, safety and function:

• Gas pressure: gas vents and flues including rubber gas pipe
• Water heater
• Cooking appliances using gas
• Gas cylinder
• Fridge cooling
• Gas dispersal holes

We also perform a general gas leak test.

Running Gear and Chassis Checks

All of the following are inspected for damage, operation, and cleaned and lubricated if necessary.

• Handbrake
• Tyres: we also check tyre pressure and age
• Brakes: brake drums and brake shoes
• Coupling head and safety hatch
• Damper: for leaks also
• Jockey wheel
• Corner steadies
• Suspension
• Shock absorbers
• Chassis
